Role Overview
The Project Manager – Transmission line will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of wind energy projects. This role involves overseeing civil, electrical, and mechanical workstreams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Leadership:
- Lead end-to-end project execution for wind energy projects from development through commissioning and handover.
- Define project strategies, timelines, and execution plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead and guide cross-functional project teams including civil, electrical, mechanical, and SCADA.
• Project Planning & Coordination:
- Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and milestones.
- Coordinate with internal teams (civil, electrical, procurement, land acquisition) for seamless project execution.
- Ensure alignment across all stakeholders for integrated project delivery.
• Design & Technical Coordination:
- Oversee and coordinate design activities across disciplines (civil, electrical, and mechanical).
- Ensure timely review and approval of engineering designs including WTG foundations, substations, and electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes (IS, IEC), and regulatory requirements.
• Execution & Site Management:
- Monitor on-site execution including civil construction and electrical installation.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Identify and resolve project risks, bottlenecks, and technical challenges.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers across project lifecycle.
- Interface with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities for approvals and grid connectivity.
- Ensure vendor performance meets contractual, quality, and schedule expectations.
• Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking mechanisms.
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability.
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
• Risk Management & Reporting:
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Track project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Ensure documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements are met.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical).
- 10–15 years of experience in project management within renewable energy (wind preferred).
- Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or wind farm projects.
- Strong knowledge of multi-disciplinary project execution (civil, electrical, mechanical).
- Proficiency in project planning tools (Primavera, MS Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
